What is different about AMA Waterways?

AMAWaterways ships are inspired by luxury yachts and designed specifically to navigate rivers. They offer river cruises in Europe, Russia, Africa, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar (Burma).

Recently the company launched a new class of ship, which it calls "twin balcony" ships.  These ships range from 160 to 164 passengers and offer both a French balcony, floor-to-ceiling windows that open, but don't allow passenger to step out, off the living area as well as a verandah off the bedroom.

The ships are nonsmoking (except on the sundeck) and feature a hair salon, massage services, fitness room and sundeck pool. Guests have an option to dine at The Chef’s Table where expert chefs cook right in front of you.  Unlimited local wines, as well as beer and sodas, are included with each open-seating lunch and dinner, which consists of regional cuisine with special selections from local European ports.

Shore excursions are included with each cruise, and include wireless audio devices so cruisers don't miss a word on history or culture. All ships offer bicycles that passengers can use to explore ports.
